information for youth workers / parents and carers...

We want the Max to be a fun filled evening but also to be safe .

Here are a few guidelines which may help you in your planning and your expectations for the event.

The event is run by a team of experienced youth workers, all of the main team members have been properly vetted and have enhanced disclosure by the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB check). We have taken health and safety precautions, the balcony and the electric has been tested for safety. We have an experienced PA engineer and lighting engineer on the night who's job is to make the event safe and enjoyable for everybody.

A few things which are helpful for to understand...

we reserve the right to control admission to the event

The Max is not responsible for the behaviour of the young people once they enter the building. Please note that you are still responsible for the behaviour of your youth group and the young people that you bring.

The Max cannot be held responsible for any property damaged, lost or stolen during the event and a cloak room facility is not provided.

Any young people we suspect of taking alcohol or drugs before or during the event will be asked to leave the event with the appropriate adult. this is non-negotiable.

It is hoped that as youth workers you have a contingency plan in place if your young people did cause a problem. Our advice is to make sure you have all relevant permission slips that you are able to do a brief risk assessment for your trip and also you have all the names, addresses and telephone numbers of the young people who are with you on the trip in case you have to contact their parents or careers at any time during or after the event.

Please be especially careful outside the building on the road as it can be very dangerous, especially when leaving the event.

There is a security and stewarding team at the Max which will try and make the venue safer for all.

Any injuries to anybody during the Max we cannot be held responsible for.

The Max will publish photos of the event on the website for publicity purposes unless directed otherwise by youth workers, parents or carers.

Please understand that as you enter the building and buy your tickets you are agreeing to adhere to the rules, to make it easier and more manageable for everybody.
